Our high quality boat charters include both crew and full board meals to make Clapotis Mer the ideal choice for your yacht sailing holiday in the most beautiful Southeast Asian Islands.
Start your yachting holiday from Phuket and head for Thailand’s southern islands and Krabi’s coast.
Phuket is a world-class starting point for yacht charters sailing around Thailand’s most beautiful islands. The cruising area includes Krabi’s coast, the southern Thai islands just across from Langkawi in Malaysia in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. Sail in the National Marine Parks in Thailand, home to scented tropical rainforests and exotic wildlife.
Phang Nga Bay and the Krabi coast islands are to the north east of Phuket. Set sail for the world famous ‘James Bond Island’ along with more than a hundred pristine Thai islands. Koh Racha Yai and Koh Racha Noi are beautiful twin islands off the south coast of Phuket and the Phi Phi islands are just south west of Krabi town. You might decide to cruise further south to enjoy Koh Lanta Island and its surrounding peaceful islands. Alternatively sail northwest into the Andaman Sea to the remote, yet popular, Similan Islands National Park in Thailand. Koh Adang and Koh Rawi are further south and two of Thailand’s hidden gem islands. Koh Lipe is a small inhabited Thai island with a lively tiny town in the Tarutao National Marine Park off Satun. It’s a peaceful place on the south-west coast of Thailand just a few miles away from Langkawi in Malaysia.
A cruise between Phuket and Langkawi in Malaysia can be a magical experience.
Phang Nga Bay is dotted with hundreds of islands and is known for its good anchorages and calm seas during the dry season. Mainland Thailand surrounding Phang Nga Bay offers nature lovers an unspoiled landscape. Here you will find Koh Tarutao Island where the Thai islands that make up the Koh Tarutao Marine National Park are accessible by yachts departing from either Phuket or Langkawi. The Tarutao and Adang-Rawi archipelagos are the most beautiful lesser-known Thai islands offering idyllic yacht sailing holidays off the southern coast edge of Thailand near the border with Malaysia, just north of Langkawi.
The Similan Islands are part of Thailand some 80 miles northwest of Phuket and are one of Thailand’s most popular sailing destinations if you fancy an area that is wild and largely uninhabited with secluded beaches and coves.
The Surin Islands are a group of five islands. Mu Ko Surin National Park is located about 30 miles off the west coast of Thailand. The Surin community of Moken made their home on Koh Surin Nuea Island. Richelieu Rock, a purple coral reef off Surin Island, is the habitat of a variety of marine life. Surin Islands National Park is the closest marine boundary between Myanmar and Thailand.
Langkawi Island in Malaysia is around 124 miles south of Phuket. It is a good starting point for your sailing holiday.
This is a lovely and serene yacht charter holiday destination with ninety nine mostly uninhabited islands, pristine beaches and lush rainforest-covered mountains. Langkawi Island is one of the premier yachting locations in South East Asia.
A short sail north from Langkawi will take you to the islands off the south of Thailand; a beautiful area for a yacht cruising holiday. You can also start your boat charter from Telaga Harbour on the west coast of Langkawi Island. Make for Burau Bay and then set sail north for Datai Bay, home to some of Langkawi’s most idyllic beaches. Tanjung Rhu Beach on the north coast of Langkawi has a legendary cave for you to visit. On the east coast of Langkawi you can anchor by Kilim River in the middle of the mangrove forest. Sail around the southern islands and into Bass Harbour to anchor off Kuah Town – Langkawi’s capital. Pulau Dayang on Bunting Island is famous for the mystical ‘Lake of the Pregnant Maiden’ and surrounded by tropical rainforests. Kayak around the water’s edge to watch the monkeys and other animals and then sail back up the west coast to reach Pantai Cenang. Here you can pay a visit to Langkawi’s Underwater World, Malaysia’s largest aquarium.
Adventure sailing holidays in the Mergui Archipelago off the southern coast of Myanmar.
The Mergui Archipelago is one of Myanmar’s jewels. It is one of the most beautiful yacht sailing holiday destinations in Southeast Asia. Start your sailing charter from the border town of Kawthaung in Myanmar and spend the night on board your yacht in a quiet cove on Barwell Island. The next morning have a wonderful time sailing and snorkeling in bright coral reef on Pony Island then head for Nyaung Wee Island (also known as Buda Island), just a short sail away, where you can visit a friendly Moken village and take a hike through the lush tropical forest and watch wildlife along the river.
The Mergui Archipelago is a pristine wilderness sailing holiday location with over 800 tropical jungle islands to explore and plentiful wildlife to watch. Cruise to the idyllic anchorage at “115 Island”; this jungle clad, mountainous group of 5 islands has more than 50 white sand beaches and beautiful fringing coral reef. At Nga Mann you can snorkel with turtles and blue spotted rays off a dazzling white sand beach. The uninhabited National Park island of Great Swinton has a mountainous interior, primary jungle with abundant wildlife, rivers and waterfalls. “Shark Cave” is a superb snorkel and dive site nearby. Clara Island has a secluded bay where you can anchor and then sail north to “Black Rock” for spectacular snorkeling or scuba diving. Salet Galet is one of the most beautiful sailing areas around the Mergui Archipelago. Choose a sheltered anchorage between Lampi island and Wa Ale Kyunn. This is a magnificent yachting holiday area surrounded by lush jungle, crystal blue waters and white-sand beaches. You’ll be able to enjoy jungle walks and kayaking in the river mangrove. You may encounter the nomadic “Moken” tribe who still live a hunter-gatherer existence in this remote wilderness. Ko Phawt is a unique yacht sailing holiday location in the Mergui Archipelago. It is one of about 20 islands and is surrounded by lush mangroves which make it ideal for an amazing sea kayak trip.
