Zadar is the main city in Northern Dalmatia . It is surrounded by city walls , towers and two entrance gates . From Mali Ždrelac , pass under the high bridge towards Žut island. to find numerous coves and anchorages .

The islands of Ilovik and Sveti Petar are separated by a narrow little channel clustered with secluded bays and sandy beaches . The main beach is Parzine .

The town is decorated with palm trees and two century- old eucalyptus trees . A quantity of smaller islands spreading around Losinj island include Unije , Ilovik , Susak , Srakane Male , Srakane Vele .

The Kornati Archipelago consists of 140 islands of natural beauty with crystal blue lagoons . Most of them have been declared National Parks . There is no permanent inhabitants on the Kornati islands

Trogir is an ancient Croatian Medieval town on the Western coast of Kastela Bay and a jewel of the Venetian Gothic style . Trogir known as  » The Little Venice » is a cultural and historical site with numerous architectural masterpieces , ancient monuments and attractions . Before the Roman Empire , the Greeks founded the town of Ragurion dated 3rd c. B.C . here

8Split is the second largest city in Southern Croatia . The height of Split´s history emerged from the Greek settlement « Aspalathos » between the 3 rd and 4 th centuries . The Roman emperor Diocletian built a magnificient palace in near by Salona in 313 AD . When the Roman colony was abandoned , many of the inhabitants sought sanctuary behind the palace´s high walls . The city was conquered by the Venetians in 1420 and their domination fell in 1797 . The cities´Temples , ancient Cathedral and Golden Gate also make memorable visits . Set sail to Brac Island.

22Brac , the third largest island in Central Dalmatia , exhibits one the most delightful scenes of white sandy beaches and clear waters on the Adriatic Sea , concentrated on the Golden Cape Zlatni Rat – Sutivan – Sumartin – Milna The famous white sandy beach covered with reddish little seashells that stretches to the blue sea is Bol – Zlatni Rat Hvar Island, with its distintive fragance of lavender and rosemary has a long promenade bordered by palm trees which leads to the Renaissance style Venetian Piazza and the city walls .

13Lastovo A dense forest of green pines in the middle of the Blue Adriatic . The long island belongs to the Korcula Archipelago . The Ancient Greeks called the island Black Korcula , Kerkyra melaina .

14Mljet was formerly called “ Honey Island “ by the Ancient Greeks . Calyso , the beautiful sea nymph kept her lover Odysseus the warrior of Trojan , imprisoned on her island for seven years . The island of Mljet reveals an attractive landscape covered by abundant forests of green pine trees and a wealth of flora and fauna . The salt lakes Malo Jezero & Veliko Jezero are linked by a canal . Pomena is a unique village in the heart of the National Park . The 12 th century Benedictine monastery lies on the little island of Saint Mary . The main ports are Sobra and Polace.

15The Korcula island is thought to be Marco Polo`s place of birth . The legend tells the town was founded by Antenor , the hero of the Trojan war . Visit the Abbey , the City Museum and the Museum of Icons . The island boasts numerous secluded coves . The natural harbours are well protected from easterly winds and the local wind , Jugo.

32Dubrovnik The old town was completed in the 13th century and virtually remains unchanged to the present day . The ancient town , guarded by towers , ramparts and fortresses is a treasure trove of cultural heritage . A pleasant walk takes you to the Prince`s Palace , Rector of Dubrovnik and the Franciscan Monastery with its 14 th century Pharmacy .

The Elafit group is composed of Kolocep, Lopud & Sipan . There are six beautiful islands all together , each with a relaxing atmosphere and close to Dubrovnik . These islands were named Elafos , meaning  » deer  » , by the Ancient Greeks .
